A 25-year-old woman has died and another victim was injured in a shooting in Chicago’s Auburn Gresham neighborhood.
According to Chicago police, officers were called to the 8000 block of South Morgan at approximately 11:45 p.m. Saturday for a report of two individuals who had been shot.
Authorities say a person pulled out a weapon and opened fire into a group of people who were standing outside at the location. The assailant then fled the scene in a silver sedan.
Police say a 25-year-old woman was shot multiple times, and was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
A second victim, identified as a 36-year-old man, was shot in the abdomen and right calf, and was listed in fair condition at an area hospital, police said.
No further information was immediately available, and an investigation is underway.
