The San Diego Police Department is investigating a shooting involving an Escondido police officer that occurred early Tuesday.
The shooting was reported near North Elm Street and East Grand Avenue in an alleyway near some homes, police said.
SDPD said an Escondido Police officer involved in the shooting was not injured.
