Several people were injured in a suspected DUI crash in Carlsbad on Wednesday morning, causing a road closure in the area.
The crash was reported around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday on Carlsbad Boulevard between Tamarack Avenue and Cannon Road. Two cars were involved in the crash, injuring several people. Carlsbad Police says no one suffered major injuries.
One person involved in the crash was arrested, and drugs and or alcohol were suspected, CPD Lt. Cosgrove said.
It is unknown what caused the crash or the number of people involved.
There were initial reports of a “person with a gun,” and Cosgrove told NBC 7 they are investigating that possibility.
Southbound Carlsbad Blvd between Tamarack Ave. and Cannon Rd. will be closed for several hours as the investigation continues.
