Man walking on Point Loma street at 2 a.m. killed by car: SDPD

A man is dead after being hit by a car in Point Loma in the early hours of Thursday.

The victim was walking east in the No. 1 lane of West Point Loma Boulevard near the Famosa Slough a little after 2 a.m. when a 2009 Toyota Yaris, also headed east, hit him, according to San Diego police.

The victim died at the scene, investigators said. The Toyota driver, a 40-year-old man, was unharmed in the incident. Police said the driver was not under the influence.
