All flights arriving at San Diego International Airport are being delayed on Thursday evening amid a shortage of air traffic controllers, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
About 194 flights were delayed at SAN by 6:50 p.m., according to FlightAware, a website which tracks flights across the world. Two flights were cancelled on Thursday.
The average time of delay is 63 minutes and the maximum wait time is about two hours, according to the FAA. That means those flying into San Diego on Thursday night could have their departure held for up to two hours.
The delays will likely last until about 1 a.m. Friday, according to the FAA.
The shortage of air traffic controllers at SAN is resulting in the FAA reducing the amount of planes that can land in the airport, according to the agency.
Passengers are urged to check their flight status.
This is a developing story and will be updated with more information as it arrives.
