A woman was discovered dead at a bus stop at Richmond Highway and Arlington Drive Monday evening in Hybla Valley, Virginia.
A community member called 911 because they spotted somebody in the bus stop along Richmond highway with wounds to the body. Police officers came to the scene, and they found the woman who was pronounced dead on the scene.
“Of course, we believe that our community members in the area may have some information about this. It is a very busy area, there’s a lot of foot traffic, there’s a lot of vehicle traffic,” said Capt. Chris Cosgriff with Fairfax County police. “That’s why our detectives will be out here all night, and we’ll have an increased police presence out here looking for anyone with information about this.”
Up until Monday, there had been no homicides in Fairfax County for the entire year. By the end of the day, the number was up to three, including this incident.
