This story contains descriptions of sexual assault.
A 29-year-old hospital employee is accused of sexually assaulting three women over the age of 75 in Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center, prior to being fired.
The man was still working at the hospital while two of the alleged sexual assaults were already under investigation. That’s when detectives say the third victim was attacked.
The Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office arrested Adam Hall of Fredericksburg, Virginia, and he’s currently being held in jail on three aggravated sexual battery charges.
Here’s the story detectives tell in the criminal complaint that News4 obtained through court records.
One of the victims was recovering from surgery and restricted to a stretcher, one was recovering from hip surgery and the third was recovering from a stroke, according to court documents.
Detectives say the surgery patient was attacked in Jan. 2025. As she was recovering, the victim told police Hall allegedly grabbed her hand and placed it on his private area. The attack was reported to police.
In Sept. 2025, detectives say the victim recovering from a broken hip was approached by Hall, who allegedly touched her breasts with his genitals and told the victim, “You like that don’t you?”
Detectives say the victim called police and according to the criminal complaint, the supervising nurse at the hospital identified Hall as the suspect.
Despite the two allegations, Spotsylvania detectives say Hall remained employed at the medical center as a nurse tech.
Then, detectives say the third attack happened in late Oct. 2025. A woman recovering from a stroke told police Hall touched her breasts with his hands and his penis and then engaged in other sexual acts.
According to the sheriff’s department, Hall was no longer an employee of the hospital by Dec. 2025.
Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center is a part of HCA Virginia. News4 asked the hospital for a statement, in which a hospital spokesperson responded, “The safety and well-being of our patients, staff and visitors are our highest priority. We are aware of the charges involving a former employee and are assisting law enforcement as they conduct their investigation. We are thankful for the efforts of the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Department that led to the arrest of the suspect.”
News4 asked twice specifically why Hall was allowed to continue working despite two active investigations in which he was identified by a supervisor as the suspect. The spokesperson has not responded.
Hall is set to stand trial in July.
