Anyone will soon be able to enter “The Situation Room” in Washington, D.C.
Not the one in the White House – but “the world’s first bar dedicated to monitoring the situation.”
Prediction market Polymarket is hosting a pop-up at Proper 21’s location on (where else?) K Street NW. It’s set to open Friday night and run through the weekend.
“Imagine a sports bar… but just for situation monitoring — live X feeds, flight radar, Bloomberg terminals, and Polymarket screens,” they wrote in a post on X.
It’s a highly D.C. concept, and after the sagas of Political Patties and Bitcoin bar PubKey, people online didn’t hold back about The Situation Room.
“Can’t wait to order a bucket of beers with the fellas why we all simultaneously monitor the situation,” one user on X said.
“The most annoying staffer you know’s new favorite bar just dropped,” Axios reporter Andrew Solender wrote on X.
“Any bar can be the situation room if you’re dedicated enough to monitoring the situation,” The Hill reporter Emily Brooks wrote on X.
Polymarket calls itself “the world’s largest prediction market.” On its website, users can place bets on almost anything, including when President Donald Trump may visit China to the day’s high temperature in major cities.
NBC News legal affairs reporter Gary Grumbach contributed to this report.
