A dentist in Silver Spring, Maryland, is accused of sexually assaulting two of his patients. Police say there could be more victims.
Dr. Ermais Semaie was arrested Thursday and charged with multiple counts of fourth-degree sex offense and second-degree assault.
A woman reported to police earlier this month that Semaie assaulted her two different times during procedures at his office, the police department said. There was no dental hygienist in the room when the alleged assaults happened, police said.
During their investigation, detectives learned another patient reported Semaie to the Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners in 2018. The board temporarily suspended Semaie’s license and put him on probation, police said. There were no criminal charges filed at the time.
“Based on the 2018 report and the current allegations, detectives believe there may be additional victims,” Montgomery County police said.
Police released the below photo of Semaie.
Investigators are asking anyone with information or who believes they might have been a victim to call 240-773-5050.
Semaie was released from jail on bond, police said.
