Beltway Inner Loop lanes blocked near Van Dorn Street in Virginia after crash

All lanes on the Inner Loop of the Capital Beltway near Van Dorn Street are blocked off due to an overnight crash Thursday, according to officials.

The Virginia Department of Transportation reported a multiple vehicle crash on the Beltway at 4:30 a.m. Traffic is backed up by 12 miles, according to News4’s Melissa Mollet.

Officials caution drivers to use alternative routes because traffic is extensive. Traffic is backed up past St. Barnabas Road.
