4 things to know about the weather:
- Last cold morning
- Dry pattern holding firm
- Mild weekend
- First 90° next week?
If your lawn, garden or farm needs watering, don’t count on Mother Nature to led a hand anytime soon. There are no significant chances in the forecast for at least another full week.
On top of that, temperatures are once again going to soar way above average which will only dry out the soil even more quickly.
Our wind will turn more southerly Thursday and that will bring temperatures back above 60° for the majority of the area. It will turn a bit chilly again Thursday night but there won’t be any risk of another frost or freeze like we’ve seen these past two mornings.
South winds, sunshine and 70s are in store Friday. Double bonus for getting great weather on a Friday.

Nice weekend leads into even hotter week
A weak cold front will come through Saturday morning so the day will start out with a fair amount of cloud cover. Technically there will be a chance for a sprinkle but it’s unlikely to be much more than 0.01” of actual rain. Sunshine will return Saturday afternoon with highs right around 70° and a light north wind.
South winds return on Sunday and a big warming trend will begin. Highs on Sunday will return to the low to mid-70s. By Monday afternoon, we will be back in the 80s again.
That will be our eighth 80° day of the year which is only one off the record set in the spring of 1945. Tuesday could be our first 90° and Wednesday might be 93° or 94°! Even next Thursday and Friday could still be way up into the 80s, making this one of the biggest April heat waves on record. Extreme heat so early in the spring can’t be good news for the summer ahead.
