A Philadelphia man was sentenced to nearly three years in prison after pleading guilty to making racist threats and cyberstalking a city worker last year, according to officials.
Officials say that Mark Tucci, 44, sent several emails to a city worker between April 18 and June 2, 2024, asking about a request he had made for records.
Then, on June 3, Tucci called the agency that the city worker was employed by multiple times.
On two of these calls, Tucci spoke with the city worker, identified himself and then proceeded to scream at the worker, officials reported. When the worker asked Tucci to stop screaming, Tucci ignored them and then the worker hung up.
In more calls to the city agency, Tucci spoke with other workers where he used racial slurs and made threats to them.
In one instance, Tucci allegedly said that he was going to show up at the city agency’s office and hurt all of the workers there.
Tucci is also accused of saying that he knew the one city worker’s home address and planned to hurt them.
Also on June 3, Tucci allegedly sent more emails to the first city worker where he used racial slurs and threated the worker.
Tucci also sent text messages to the worker where he used their full name and made it clear that he knew where the worker lived.
Along with making threats, Tucci is quoted as writing, “This is personal now,” in text messages.
Tucci was charged with interfering with federally protected activities, cyberstalking and interstate communication of threats.
In a separate incident that was listed in the court filings for Tucci’s case, he is accused of pulling next to another car in traffic on Interstate 95, rolling his window down and yelling racial slurs while threatening to kill the other driver on Feb. 1, 2024, officials reported. At one point during this incident, Tucci threw a glass mug containing coffee at the other car, damaging it and scaring the other driver.
Tucci was sentenced to 33 months in prison plus two years of supervised released and $16,529.44 in restitution.
