A 37-year-old man has been hospitalized, police said, after being shot during an attempted robbery that happened in Philly’s East Mount Airy community on Tuesday night.
According to police, the incident happened at about 11:28 p.m. along the unit block of East Pleasant Street.
At that time, officials said, the victim was approached by two armed men, both dressed in all black clothes.
The victim, police said, attempted to grab one of the assailant’s guns and the attacker fired a single shot, striking the victim.
Both gunmen fled after the shot was fired, officials said.
First responders took the victim to a nearby hospital where, officials said, he was listed in stable condition.
No arrests have been made in this incident and, officials said, police are still searching for the men believed to be involved in this incident.
An investigation, police said, is ongoing.
