Four people — including a firefighter — were taken to the hospital, officials said, as crews worked to extinguish a house fire in New Castle, Delaware early Tuesday.
According to officials, fire crews returned to a home along the 100 block of Parma Avenue in New Castle, Del. at about 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, after having been to the property earlier in the night.
Officials did not immediately say if they needed to return to the property because a fire re-ignited.
But, officials did say, during the response to the fire, four people, including a firefighter, were taken to the hospital.
At least one of the individuals, officials said, was in critical condition.
Officials did not immediately provide further identifying information on the individuals or their injuries nor did they detail their conditions at the hospital.
As of about 6:30 a.m. firefighters were still working at the scene.
The cause of the fire, officials said, is under investigation.
