Rita’s celebrates first day of spring with free water ice, Philly pop-up event

With spring arriving, a sweet seasonal staple is here as well. On Friday, March 20, Rita’s Italian Ice & Frozen Custard is celebrating the first day of spring with free 6-ounce Italian Ice for customers at all of their locations nationwide.

Rita’s is also celebrating spring in Philadelphia with a “Swing Into Spring” pop-up event at Schuylkill River Park on 300 South 25^th Street from 3 p.m. through 5 p.m. on Friday, March 20.

The event will include free samples of Rita’s Mango Italian Ice as well as a new mystery Italian Ice flavor. It’s all part of a contest Rita’s will run from March 20 through March 29 in which customers will taste the mystery water ice and try to guess the flavor.

Rita’s was founded in 1984 in Bensalem, Pennsylvania, and has remained an iconic spot in the Philadelphia region for four decades. It’s currently the largest Italian Ice concept in the world with over 600 locations across the country.
