Police in Mercer County are investigating after a man was hit by a car and killed early on Friday morning, according to the Trenton Police Department.
The crash happened just before 1 a.m. on March 27 near the intersection of Greenwood Avenue and Hudson Street in Trenton, police said.
When officers got to the scene, they found a 52-year-old man who had been hit by a car while trying to cross the street, officials explained.
The man was taken to a nearby hospital where he died from his injuries, according to police.
Officials said that the vehicle that hit him left the scene before police got there.
The suspected vehicle is described as a dark-colored SUV.
Trenton Police Detective Andy Villanueva is investigating.
