Video shows ICE agents smash car window and detain man in South Jersey

ICE agents were recorded in Cumberland County smashing a car window and then detaining a man they say is undocumented on Friday.

The video was recorded by the man’s wife, who can be heard screaming as her husband was taken away in handcuffs.

The scene unfolded in Bridgeton as the couple got a ride from their immigration lawyer, Stephen Guice, after an appearance at the local courthouse.

According to Guice, agents had been watching his client from the he stepped outside the courthouse, and that the agents had escalated the incident for no reason.

“We didn’t even get one block before they pulled me over,” he said. “It was very violent. They never had to break out the window to my car, or smash my car. They also did damage to other parts of my car.”

Guice said his client had been working to get his immigration paperwork worked out, and that he has requested an arrest warrant from his client’s supervisor, but was yet to see one as of Friday afternoon.
