A 58-year-old man is fighting for his life in the hospital after he was struck by a minivan in Northeast Philadelphia on Saturday night, police said.
The crash occurred in the area of the intersection of Cottman and Castor Avenue at around 8:50 p.m. when the man walked out into the street outside of a marked crosswalk in front of a 2014 Honda Odyssey traveling southbound, police said.
The driver of the Honda, a 24-year-old man, remained at the scene and is cooperating, police said.
The man who was struck, who has not been identified, is in critical condition at the hospital, police said.
The crash remains under investigation by the Philadelphia Police Department.
