A Lehigh County man has been sentenced to serve decades behind bars after he was convicted of sexually abusing a child for years, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
Ronald Haberstumpf, 79, was convicted of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, aggravated indecent assault of a child, indecent assault of a person under the are of 13 and related offenses after a trial on Aug. 26, 2025.
The offenses occurred repeatedly at a Bethlehem home from 2013 through 2017, starting when the victim was between four-years-old and eight, police said.
On March 30, 2026, Haberstumpf was sentenced to 21 to 47 years in state prison and will be required to register as a sex offender.
Haberstumpf will not be eligible for parole until he is in his 90s, officials say.
