A video obtained by NBC10 showed a Bucks County nurse push a one-year-old child with multiple medical issues, including spina bifida.
The video, provided by the family’s lawyer, Sam Dordick, shows Cindy Dresser, a 58-year-old homecare nurse for Dynamic Home Health Care, push the baby down while she was in the crib.
Dordick said that the baby is still not the same after the alleged abuse.
“Certainly she got better, but certainly the parents have seen that she has been impacted by the physical assault and the physical abuse Dresser inflicted,” Dordick said. “How long it will take for her to fully recover, if ever, we’ll find out.”
On March 27, Dresser, of Bucks County, was charged with endangering the welfare of children following an investigation with the Bensalem Township Police Department, according to an affidavit of probable cause.
The mother of the child told police that the girl’s bedroom is always under constant video surveillance due to her ongoing medical condition, the affidavit said.
In October 2025, the affidavit stated that the mother noticed bruises while changing her daughter’s diaper. She also observed a peculiar bruise that a physician at CHOP suggested could resemble a thumbprint.
The affidavit stated that the mother’s concerns about bruising led her to check the home surveillance videos. In the videos, Desser was seen smacking the child and pulling on the girl’s trach, along with slamming her.
During this time, the affidavit revealed that the mother then discovered Desser was already being investigated for another alleged incident involving the assault of another child.
According to the affidavit, police reviewed videos provided by the mother and observed Desser aggressively throwing the child around inside the crib. They also saw Desser smacking the child on several occasions. Additionally, the videos showed Desser sleeping while she was supposed to be caring for the child.
Police also shared that Desser was employed at Dynamic Home Health Care located in Bensalem. NBC10 reached out to the company for a statement, but have not heard back.
Desser is charged with endangering the welfare of children. She is currently in custody in the Bucks County Jail after failing to post bail. Her next preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 7, 2026.
The family is also suing Dresser.
NBC10 reached out to Desser’s attorney for a comment. We will include a statement once we receive one.
