Police shot and killed a man as he was stabbing a woman to death after killing another man in Chester on Wednesday morning, officials said.
According to police, the incident unfolded shortly after midnight when officers responding to a 9-1-1 call found a man in the middle of stabbing a woman with a knife at a home along the 900 block of Barclay Street in Chester.
At that time, police ordered the man to stop his attack, but officials said, the man ignored the commands and continued to attack the victim.
A responding officer then opened fire, striking and killing the man, officials said.
According to witnesses, police said, prior to this deadly attack, the attacker — who police have not publicly identified — shot and killed a man who was found deceased in the home following the police-involved shooting.
The two victims and the assailant were all pronounced at the scene, officials said.
Police did not immediately provide further information on the victims or what may have led to this deadly incident.
But, officials said, an investigation is underway and there is no threat to the public.
Police are expected to provide additional information at a press event sometime on Wednesday.
