Power line catches fire in Center City, causing power outage for some

A power line that caught fire on Wednesday night was causing more than 1,000 PECO customers to lose power.

NBC10 was on the scene to find crews working to put out the fire on the power lines and transformer at 12th and Lombard streets at around 10 p.m.

According to PECO, around 1,259 customers were affected in the area. The website also said that the outage was expected to be finished by midnight on Thursday.

It is unclear how the fire started at this time, but NBC10 is working to learn more and will provide updates when they are available.
