A discovery of possible human remains, including a skull, prompted an investigation in New Castle County, Delaware, this week.
According to police, on Sunday, March 29, 2026, around 5:22 p.m. offices were called to Ravine Road in the Highland Woods Neighborhood following a report of a possible human skull discovered along a creek in a wooded area.
Police said the remains appeared to be a human skull showing signs of “prolonged environmental exposure.”
The State of Delaware Division of Forensic Science, along with detectives from the Criminal Investigations Unit, assisted with searching the area. During the canvass, another bone of unknown origin was found, police said.
Police said all of the recovered remains were turned over to the Delaware Division of Forensic Science for further testing and analysis.
The investigation remains ongoing, and the identity of the individual has not yet been confirmed, according to police.
