This rescue in New Jersey has a “bear-y” good ending.
New Jersey State Police shared in a social media post that on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, around 1:37 p.m., troopers from Troop “B” Perryville Station responded to an unusual call about a lone bear cub spotted in a roadside ditch along Interstate 78 in Union Township.
Upon arrival, police stated that troopers found the small cub alone, likely having just lost his “bearings.”
Police said troopers safely rescued the cub, transported him to the barracks, and later released him to the Department of Environmental Protection for proper care.
Some of the troopers even took a pause to take photos with the adorable animal:

“Thanks to the swift response of the troopers, the cub is now safe and receiving the attention he needs,” police wrote.
Talk about a “paw-sitive” outcome!
