A New Jersey family honored the life of a woman who they say was killed in an act of domestic violence.
Family members of 41-year-old Tomeka Kamwani told NBC10 that they are struggling to understand how the mother of four was, according to them, shot and killed by her ex-fiancé who then took his own life.

The homicide-suicide happened on Friday, March 27 inside Tomeka’s home on the 300 bock of Broad Street in Swedesboro, New Jersey, her family said. Two of her children were inside the house at the time.
Her sister, Lakiecha Brooks, said her sister was deeply loved by many.
On April 3, dozens gathered at Carney’s Point Recreational Park to honor her life.
Her family is now vowing to raise awareness about domestic violence as the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office continues its investigation.
