A man was arrested after police said he stabbed his father to death during an argument at a home in Philadelphia.
According to the Philadelphia Police Department, on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at around 11:34 p.m., officers responded to a 9-1-1 call about a person with a weapon on the 600 block of West Wingohocking Street.
Police said when officers got to the scene, they found a 61-year-old man lying on the porch of a home, suffering from apparent stab wounds to the neck. Medics transported the man to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead at 12:11 a.m. on Sunday, April 5, 2026.
A suspect, the man’s 28-year-old son, was taken into custody without incident, police said.
A preliminary investigation revealed that an argument had happened between the father and son, according to police. During the dispute, the son stabbed his father multiple times in the neck.
Police said the investigation remains active and ongoing with the Homicide Unit.
