The state of Pennsylvania will be a huge party this summer as America celebrates its 250th birthday.
On Thursday, April 8, Gov. Josh Shapiro announced five free concerts across the state as part of the Commonwealth Concert Series, which will feature a diverse lineup of popular singers and bands.
“It’s important for us to be able to bring alive all that there is to offer in every community across Pennsylvania, to celebrate our history and to make sure we look toward our future,” Shapiro said.
The first concert in the series will be held on May 23 at Penn State and the last concert will be held on June 27 in Pittsburgh. Read the full lineup below.

The concert series will be open to the public, but attendees will be required to have a free ticket for admission to the events and are encouraged to visit America250PA.org to sign up for email alerts regarding ticket release dates.
“The Commonwealth Concert Series honors that legacy by bringing people together in communities across Pennsylvania to celebrate a shared pride in who we are and where we come from. We are thrilled to welcome world-class artists for this series, and we cannot wait to share this moment with our neighbors across the Commonwealth this summer,” said Cassandra Coleman, Executive Director of America250PA.
The Commonwealth Concert Series joins a list of events to be held across the state to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary, including the Wawa Welcome America events in Philadelphia leading up to the big Fourth of July concert.
Queen Latifah, Idina Menzel, Eve, Kirk Franklin, Olga Tañón, and DJ Jazzy Jeff are set to perform in the 2026 Wawa Welcome America festival. The headliner for the Fourth of July concert is yet to be announced.
Shapiro also said that his administration has been working hard with state agencies to ensure everyone’s safety during the upcoming festivities, which also include the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
