Jimmy Valiant is lacing up his boots one more time. Indie promotion NAWA has announced that the WWE Hall of Famer will compete in a final match at the age of 83 at an event called Boogie’s Last Dance, named after his longtime nickname, the Boogie Woogie Man. The show takes place on Saturday, April 25, at the Buford High School Gymnasium in Lancaster, South Carolina.
Valiant addressed the announcement himself, reflecting on a career that has lasted over six decades and taken him across the country hundreds of thousands of miles.
“Yes, this will be my final dance. I’ve retired before, but this is truly my last dance. I’m honored to hang up my boots after 62 years of wrestling pro. I had over 15,000 matches and drove 6 million miles on U.S. highways, plus flying getting to those matches.”

Valiant made his professional wrestling debut in 1964, going on to share the ring with some of the most celebrated names in the history of the business including Andre The Giant, Bruno Sammartino, Pedro Morales, and Jerry Lawler. Dusty Rhodes accompanied him for a match against Paul Jones at a 1984 event called Boogie Man Jam ’84, one of the more memorable moments from his long career.
He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 1996 as part of a class that also included Vince McMahon Sr., Jimmy Snuka, and Killer Kowalski.
Valiant has acknowledged that this is not the first time he has announced a retirement, but at 83 years old and with 15,000 matches behind him, he is framing this one as the genuine conclusion to a run that has spanned more than half a century of professional wrestling history across territories, arenas, and generations of fans.
