Man shot in Avalon Park

A man was shot in Avalon Park Wednesday night, according to Chicago police.

The man, 18, was in the 1100 block of East 81st Street at 7:29 p.m. when he was shot in the head, police said in a statement. He was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition, police said.

No one is in custody, police said.
