Bruce Springsteen’s anti-Trump tour’s ironic benefactor exposes The Boss’ hypocrisy

These days the entertainment biz makes for some strange bedfellows.

As Bruce Springsteen kicked off his anti-Trump “Land of Hope and Dreams” tour in Minneapolis, he called the White House, a “corrupt, incompetent, racist, reckless, and treasonous administration.” The Donald then called for his supporters to boycott the Boss, dubbing the rock star, “a total loser who spews hate,” and looks like, “a dried up prune.”

Talk about a Pennsylvania Avenue Freeze-Out.

Whichever side you’re on, industry sources say, the big winner is TicketMaster and Live Nation, which is promoting the tour and was saved from legal hot water by reaching a settlement with Trump’s DOJ in its big antitrust case.

The Wall Street Journal reported last month that Trump himself allegedly pushed for the settlement after speaking to Hollywood pals. Meanwhile, tickets for Springsteen’s tour are selling for up to $3K.

Groused a veteran music exec, “I was with some people [in the business] and we were all talking about Bruce. The question is, does he know who’s paying for this tour? What Springsteen is doing is great, he’s going after Trump. But, helllllo?”

The insider cited the WSJ report that Trump jumped in to help push the DOJ to settle the Live Nation suit for about $280 million, reportedly just four days of revenue for the company.

Some states, including New Jersey, are reportedly continuing the case. One of the issues brought up in court has been an alleged $240K in fees charged by Ticketmaster for “platinum” seats for a onetime Springsteen gig in North Carolina, according to the Asbury Park Press.
