Cops make most stomach-turning discovery imaginable in back of Bay Area truck

Police found a body inside a truck in San Jose that was so badly decomposed that they could not identify the the victim.

Officers from the San Jose Police Department responded to a call on March 21 near the intersection of Francis Drive and McKee Road and made the gruesome find.

Cops were horrified to discover a body in such an advanced state of decomposition that it had to be turned over to the Santa Clara County Office of the Medical Examiner for identification.

The truck, a red, two-door 2010 Nissan Frontier, is registered to 40-year-old Aldama Refugio Jr., a San Jose resident who was reported missing earlier in 2026, according to police.

Authorities are investigating whether the remains belong to Refugio and say foul play may be involved.

The shocking discovery has left the local community rattled. Police are combing the area and reviewing any leads that might shed light on how the victim ended up in the truck.

Officials have not provided further updates.
