New polling shows President Donald Trump’s hold over the Make America Great Again movement has reached a rare political ceiling, with approval among its voters registering at 100 percent.
Newsweek contacted the White House for comment via email outside regular working hours.
Why It Matters
With the 2026 midterms approaching, turnout and base enthusiasm are expected to play an outsize role.
Trump’s total dominance within MAGA highlights how little internal resistance he faces heading into that fight.
What To Know
Fresh polling has put a striking number at the center of the political conversation: Every self‑identified MAGA Republican surveyed said they approved of Trump.
CNN data analyst Harry Enten discussed the result of an NBC News poll, describing it as one of those moments when the data speaks for itself.
“Sometimes you look at polling data and there are numbers that just jump off the screen at you. And this is one of those,” Enten said on air.
According to the poll, Trump’s approval among MAGA Republicans stands at 100 percent, with zero respondents saying they disapprove.
Trump himself amplified the moment by sharing the CNN clip on Truth Social, drawing fresh attention to the polling.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt also reposted the segment on X and repeated Enten’s framing.
Speaking on CNN, Enten said the unanimity reflected a defining line inside the Republican Party.
“Now, there are some Republicans who disapprove of Donald John Trump, but they are not members of the Make America Great Again movement,” Enten said. “The bottom line is this: If you are a member of MAGA, you approve of Donald Trump.”
On X, Enten shared the message in even blunter terms: “There’s no break in MAGA.”
He added that 90 percent of MAGA Republicans approved of U.S. military action in Iran and argued that dissenters no longer fell within the movement at all.
One detail Enten highlighted is particularly significant heading into the next election cycle.
“Importantly: MAGA makes up the same share of voters as it did when Trump won in 2024,” he wrote on X, pushing back against claims that the movement has shrunk since Trump returned to the White House.
On CNN, Enten used a sports analogy to underline just how unusual the number is.
“You don’t have to be a mathematical genius to know you can’t go higher than 100 percent,” he said, likening Trump’s standing within MAGA to “the 1972 Miami Dolphins,” the last NFL team to finish a season undefeated.
What People Are Saying
MAGA influencer Gunther Eagleman wrote on X: “CNN handed Trump the ultimate compliment while trying to dunk. … MAGA is as strong as ever!”
Eric Trump, the president’s son, wrote on Instagram: “The nightmare stat for CNN! 100 percent.”
The MAGA Voice account on X wrote: “President Trump just posted CNN proving that 100 percent of MAGA supports Trump. The Democrat Party is collapsing. LET’S GO.”
MAGA influencer Eric Daugherty wrote on X: “President Trump just posted CNN being forced to admit he has 100 percent APPROVAL among the MAGA base. Trump wins again!
“The same poll also confirmed MAGA has NOT shrunk since the 2024 election. Huge victory!”
What Happens Next
Attention now shifts to how Trump’s unbroken support within MAGA translates into turnout, fundraising and candidate recruitment as midterm campaigns accelerate.
Polling beyond the base, including among independents and non‑MAGA Republicans, is likely to shape how both parties calibrate their strategies in the months ahead.
