President Donald Trump has deleted an AI-generated image depicting himself as Jesus Christ that was posted on Truth Social on Sunday night.
The image, which was shared without a written comment by the president, showed Trump donning a traditional white robe and red sash and healing a man while surrounded by four adoring people, including a nurse and a soldier. In the background, an eagle is flying in front of the U.S. flag to the left, soldiers appear to be ascending toward a Heaven-like light in the middle, and another eagle is flying next to military jets to the right.
The image sparked outrage from conservative viewers, including former Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene. No immediate explanation as to why the photo was deleted was posted on Trump’s Truth Social account.
Newsweek reached out to the White House by email for comment on Monday.
