It wasn’t quite the “it is your birthday” celebration from The Office, but Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman gave about as stock as possible an answer to the future of wide receiver A.J. Brown at league meetings over the weekend.
“I understand that there’s interest in the A.J. Brown story. I, unfortunately, don’t have a home under a rock,” he said. “But my answer to any question on A.J. Brown is A.J. Brown is a member of the Eagles.”
“From my perspective, anything you ask me about A.J. Brown, I’m going to go right back to that answer. But I understand the interest. I put on TV and I see that there’s interest, but my answer is A.J. Brown is a member of the Philadelphia Eagles.”

ESPN‘s Matt Miller doesn’t live under a rock either. While Roseman avoids questions about Brown’s future, Miller is focused on giving the Eagles a potential replacement if Brown isn’t on the team in 2026 – or an excellent third wide receiver option if Brown is on the team next season.
In his most recent mock draft, Miller had the Eagles selecting former Clemson wide receiver Antonio Williams with the No. 56 pick.
“Given the uncertainty surrounding A.J. Brown’s future with the team, it’d be smart for the Eagles to draft a wide receiver somewhat early. The worst-case scenario has Williams working as the WR3 in 2026. He had 208 catches over four seasons with 21 touchdowns and is NFL-ready,” Miller said.
A decision on Brown will likely officially come after June 1. The dead cap hit is north of $40 million to trade him before June 1, compared to around $20 million after.
