At this point, nothing screams summer quite like the six-week-long collective experience of tuning into a new episode of Love Island USA almost every night. Garnering over 18.4 billion minutes of streaming on Peacock, Season 7 of Love Island USA had people watching from their couches and local bars to check in on the ever-dramatic, sometimes controversial, and always stylish group of islanders.
Whether you love it or you hate it, the past two seasons of Love Island USA have been unavoidable and undeniably entertaining, reaching all different corners of the internet and creating a fresh batch of household names and memes for the history books (Mommy? Mamacita?). Even though it may feel like we only just left the villa, get ready to rejoin Ariana Madix at the fire pit because Peacock has just announced two new seasons and their premiere dates.
Love Island USA has officially been renewed for Season 8 and is set to premiere Tuesday, June 2, at 6 pm PT / 9 pm ET. Host extraordinaire Ariana Madix will return to the villa in Fiji with a brand-new group of islanders for us to obsess over.
Peacock also announced a new season of Love Island: Beyond the Villa, featuring former islanders from Love Island USA Season 7. Season 2 will premiere with two episodes on Wednesday, April 15. The season will continue with a pair of new episodes streaming every Wednesday at 6 pm PT/9 pm ET.
This season will follow the Season 7 islanders as they return home from their life-altering summer in Fiji and navigate their newfound fame. Surrounded by familiar faces and past connections, these Islanders test their romantic relationships in the real world, resolve unfinished business with their exes, and discover that life outside of the villa comes with its own set of challenges.
As previously announced, the cast will include Amaya Espinal, Bryan Arenales, Hannah Fields, Pepe Garcia, Gracyn Blackmore, Charlie Georgio, Andreina Santos, Jeremiah Brown, Belle-A Walker, TJ Palma, Iris Kendall, Taylor Williams, Clarke Carraway, Chris Seeley, Coco Watson, and Austin Shepard. The trailer teases a look into the Season 7 winners’ (Espinal and Arenales) breakup, unresolved conflicts within old love-triangles, and even a guest appearance from Season 6’s Kaylor Martin.
This season of Beyond the Villa is noticeably missing some major players, including Olandria Carthen, Nic Vansteenberghe, Chelley Bissainthe, Ace Greene, Huda Mustafa, and Cierra Ortega. The stars of Love Island USA Season 7 all endured intense public scrutiny at one point or another during the show’s run, warranting an on-air PSA demanding an end to cyberbullying and harassment aimed at contestants. The missing cast members’ absence can likely be attributed to this—an important reminder to be more respectful and kind to the real people on our screens.
We can’t wait to live vicariously through new and old Islanders again so soon, and for our feeds to be flooded with extremely important Love Island discourse.
