CHELMSFORD, MASS. (WHDH) – A woman in Chelmsford got her wish for her 99th birthday – and then some.
Theresa Gola asked for firefighters to visit, hoping to see a few. Instead, the entire department came to her nursing home to celebrate.
The firefighters brought flowers and gifts and took photos with her.
“I didn’t know I was gonna have this for my birthday, that’s for sure!” Gola said. “The whole fire department was here, I hope there’s no fire right now because they’d have to leave and i don’t want them to leave.”
The firefighters said having the opportunity to make someone’s day was well worth the trip.
“My firemen are the best in the world,” Gola said. “The best.”
