NORTHEAST MIAMI-DADE, FLA. (WSVN) – Children had some fun on the soccer field at a South Florida elementary school.
A new mini-pitch soccer field opened at Oak Grove Elementary in Northeast Miami-Dade on Wednesday. It is the first of 25 fields that will open across the school district.
It is all part of a joint effort by various organizations including the Miami World Cup 2026, the U.S. Soccer Foundation, the Children’s Trust and Miami-Dade County Public Schools.
“This will uplift our entire community, providing access to soccer all across our wonderful Miami,” said M-DCPS Superintendent Dr. Jose L. Dotres.
The new field adds to the 50 in total that will be built across the country.
The goal is to give hope to the children living in these neighborhoods.
