Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao are set to meet in the ring for a rematch of their 2015 bout.
On Monday, it was announced that Mayweather and Pacquiao have agreed to a match that will take place on Sept. 19 in Las Vegas. The event will be streamed live on Netflix and represent the first boxing event to take place at The Sphere, Las Vegas’ immersive entertainment venue that opened in 2023.
Mayweather, who will turn 49 years old on Tuesday, hasn’t fought since his retirement nine years ago. Just a few day ago, he announced his intentions to come out of retirement and fight Mike Tyson in a 2026 exhibition match.
11 years ago, Mayweather defeated Pacquiao by decision in their record-breaking pay-per-view matchup.
Following Monday’s announcement, Mayweather sent a clear message to the 47-year-old Filipino fighter.
“I already fought and beat Manny once,” Mayweather said in a statement. “This time will be the same result.”

Pacquiao, who ended his four-year retirement last year, released a statement of his own after the news of his upcoming bout with Mayweather.
“Floyd and I gave the world what remains the biggest fight in boxing history,” Pacquiao said. “The fans have waited long enough — they deserve this rematch, and it will be even bigger now that it will be streamed live globally on Netflix. I want Floyd to live with the one loss on his professional record and always remember who gave it to him. As always, I dedicate this fight to my fellow Filipinos around the world and to bringing glory to the Philippines.”
