Four men were fatally shot and at least eight people were wounded since Friday evening during shootings citywide, according to Chicago police.
The four unidentified men: 28, 43, 22 and 39 were killed during a violent five hour stretch between 2:20 a.m. Sunday and 9:35 p.m. Saturday, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.
Most recently, the 28-year-old was shot during a drive-by about 2:10 a.m. in the 1300 block of South St. Louis Avenue in the North Lawndale neighborhood, police said.
At the same time the 43-year-old man was dropped off at Stroger Hospital, where he died after being shot. Police did not know the location of the attack.
Another man, 39, was gunned down about 12:30 a.m. in the 200 block of East 38th Street in Bronzeville, police said.
Saturday about 9:35 p.m. the 22-year-old man was slain in the 8000 block of South Hermitage Avenue in the city’s Auburn Gresham neighborhood.
At least eight other people were wounded including two additional men in the Bronzeville attack, one of whom was left in critical condition.
Detectives are investigating and reported one arrest.
