A legendary golfer is refusing to watch the Masters this year after not being invited to the Augusta National grounds.
Greg Norman, who wasn’t invited to the Masters in 2023 and 2024 after he helped launch LIV Golf, was once again snubbed from the list of past major champions invited to the tournament. While he never won the Masters, Norman finished either second or in a tie for second on three separate occasions.
Following his latest snub, Norman doesn’t plan to watch the year’s first major tournament, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.

“Well, I won’t be there, that’s for sure; I never received the normal invitation from the Masters,” Norman said in a phone call. “I won’t even watch it [because] I will be out of the country, to be honest with you. But I will follow the results day by day to see who’s leading, what’s happening.
“It just seems like I’ve moved on from that, too, which is a crying shame because [the] Masters and Augusta and a number of friends I have in Augusta National, the powers to be decided to go in a different direction. So, I have to accept that.”
The decision comes on the 30th anniversary of perhaps his greatest heartbreak and lives on in unfortunate Masters history. In 1996, Norman led by six shots going into the final round, but shot a six-over, 78 as playing partner Nick Faldo fired a five-under, 67 to win the tournament by five shots.
The Masters tees off on April 9.
