Haunting surveillance footage shows a woman leaving an In-Shape gym in California just moments before she was allegedly abducted, robbed and raped by a gangbanger armed with a gun.
Video shown to jurors Wednesday in Kern County criminal court showed the victim in the 2023 rape case, who is identified only as Jane Doe, leaving the suburban fitness center after a workout.
In the clip, the victim is see heading into the parking lot of In-Shape Family Fitness in Bakersfield wearing a black two-piece workout set.
Just moments later prosecutors say she was brutally abducted at gunpoint by 44-year-old Vincent DeLeon.
DeLeon, who has pleaded not guilty to kidnapping, carjacking, robbery and rape charges, was allegedly waiting in a car in the parking lot looking for vehicles to burglarize, KGET reports.
He is said to have watched as Doe entered In-Shape that day and decided then he was going to target her, prosecutors claim.
DeLeon “told her she should have been more careful and that he’d been waiting for her for over an hour,” the court heard at a preliminary hearing in 2024.

When Doe finished her workout and returned to her car, DeLeon approached her and stuck a gun in her face, District Attorney Cynthia Zimmer said in court Wednesday, according to KGET.
“Scoot over,” he allegedly said.
DeLeon then drove away in Doe’s car with her, Zimmer said, leaving his alleged accomplice Jesus Chavez Torres waiting in the vehicle the pair arrived in.
He kept in touch by phone with Torres as he took Doe to multiple ATMs and forced her to withdraw hundreds of dollars, Zimmer said.
Doe testified DeLeon held her at gunpoint and drove her to an orange orchard, where he raped her. Afterward, DeLeon left Doe at a nearby grocery store, she testified.
Tear-jerking footage shown in court Wednesday showed the young woman being left in the parking lot at Vallarta Supermarket.
“Happy holidays,” DeLeon allegedly told her before driving away. While the video was shown, DeLeon reportedly snickered in the courtroom.
After the attack, DeLeon met with Torres to buy clothing using Doe’s stolen debit card, Zimmer said.
DeLeon was arrested the same day as his alleged crimes took place. Torres was later identified through phone records and taken into custody, reports said.
Torres has pleaded no contest to kidnapping and vehicle theft-related charges. The trial is ongoing.
