The Los Angeles Lakers are in rare form ahead of their homecoming clash against Brooklyn on Friday night, with the hosts hoping to extend an incredibly productive March. JJ Redick’s side has won 12 of their 14 games so far this month and is inches from tying up the Pacific Division title as things stand.
Things couldn’t contrast a lot more for the Nets, who have the second-worst record in the entire league and sit miles adrift at the bottom of the Atlantic Division, with 23 wins fewer than their nearest rival. It should come as no surprise that the team can no longer bank on a playoff place even if it were to win all of its remaining games, and the off-season frankly can’t come quickly enough.
Lakers talisman Luka Doncic continued his recent hot streak with a 43-point performance in Wednesday’s 137-130 win over Indiana. LeBron James also showed out with a team high of nine assists, topping the Lakers’ charts in that metric for the third time in four games.
This could be the first time since the 2017/18 season that the Lakers manage to book home and away wins over Brooklyn in the same campaign.
