And so, farewell, Monica Cannon-Grant, the obese BLM grifter and welfare fraudster (but I repeat myself) who will be sentenced tomorrow in federal court for all her corrupt race-baiting serial scams.
In most such cases, no matter how loathsome, convicts can usually count on a bunch of their pals to write letters to the sentencing judge attesting to their devout character and total contrition for their crimes, which by the way they didn’t really commit.
Monica, however, only seems to have rounded up seven such pleas for leniency on her behalf.
Bishop William E Dickerson II of the Greater Love Tabernacle and Bishop of Restoration Ministry of Boston checked in with a pro forma letter.
“Could Monica have done some things better in her organization,” he asked, “in regard to dotting the I’s and crossing her T’s financially, yes.”
That’s a bit of an understatement, wouldn’t you say Bishop?
Let’s go to Monica’s own words about her campaign for “social justice,” as her fifth team of lawyers since 2021 write in their pre-sentencing memo to Judge Angel Kelley.
Monica’s racketeering enterprise, d/b/a Violence in Boston, took off in 2020 thanks to COVID and George Floyd. But even early in her career in the rackets, Monica instinctively knew how to play her prime marks — guilt-ridden rich females from the suburbs.
When one of her sons wrecked his car in September 2019, Monica wanted to get him some new wheels. She understood what to do, as she explained to a friend:
“I just got to figure out how to get a rental but I’m a see (sic) if I can get some white women to pay for it.”
She always understood just what to do. Just start yelling and swearing and calling them racists, and the Cambridge Women’s Commission would whip out the checkbook. Plus, they’d hand her all kinds of phony-baloney awards, like she was Segun Idowu or somebody.
The more Monica screamed “racism” at all those trust-funded hens and hausfraus in regime-controlled media, the more they all swooned.
Oddly, though, not a single crack hoity-toity scribe from the Boston Globe, WGBH or Boston Magazine has penned a letter to the judge attesting to Monica’s fine character, now that she really could use a slobbering kiss down at the courthouse.
For most scammers of every stripe, it was 2020 that turned out to be the Greatest Year of All Time – COVID and George Floyd!
Suddenly, Monica Cannon-Grant was vacationing in St. Thomas, laundering hundreds of thousands of dollars across the country, spending sprees galore at Louis Vuitton.
Reparations!
As we all know, the COVID scams were like blowing a dog whistle, only for fraudsters.
Monica’s first score in 2020 was a COVID-aid grant from the City of Boston, for $53,977.
Next, the feds say she went after the Commonwealth with her husband and one of her children, collecting $145,269 in pandemic unemployment aid, despite the fact she was “being handsomely paid to be a DEI consultant.”
Handsomely paid? Is there any DEI hustler anywhere who isn’t paid “handsomely,” to put it mildly?
Once you start stealing, it’s hard to stop. Especially if you’re a member of the protected classes, and can’t be called out no matter what you do.
So when the state uncovered her scam, she just texted her flim-flamming husband:
“Unemployment caught my ass!”
As the feds noted:
“Ms. Cannon-Grant treated her culpability as a joke.”
Next, she circled back to the City of Boston trough. It’s hard to imagine, but Mayor Marty Walsh may have been an even bigger chump than Gov. Charlie Baker or the hens at the Boston Globe when it came to kissing Monica’s massive gluteus maximus.
She scammed $12,600 out of the Office of Housing Stability for “rent assistance.”
Of course, the more money she was stealing off the honkies, the more she resented having to pay any taxes. In 2017-18 she underpaid her federal taxes, but by 2019 and 2020 she’d stopped paying altogether.
But Monica didn’t just rip off The Man. She was an equal opportunity thief. Soon the feds say she was “stealing her father’s veteran’s benefits.” She even scammed a fund controlled by then-Suffolk County District Attorney Rachael Rollins. Can you believe it?
Monica ripped off Rachael Rollins? Is there no honor among… oh, never mind!
She and her husband were indicted in 2021 – do you know how much money a DEI hustler had to steal back in those days to get indicted by Joe Biden’s corrupt Justice Department?
Next her husband got killed in a motorcycle accident. It was another big payday for Monica. In 2023-24, she collected another $380,439 in insurance payments.
Despite her huge cash flow, she couldn’t stop grifting. She claimed she needed money for her “legal defense.” She said she was going to be evicted from her house. And then of course there were those bills — $8,735 in purchases at Louis Vuitton alone.
Monica kept raising the big bucks. You can never go broke guilt-tripping a rich white female NPR listener.
As she awaits sentencing, Monica has no job. Of course she doesn’t. Social security is her current crutch.
The feds want her to serve 18 months, which isn’t enough, but she’ll probably get even less. Look at Tania Fernandes Anderson, although maybe that was because she checked even more woke boxes than Monica.
Monica will likely go away for a month or two. Meanwhile, the ditzy women who got the vapors when she cursed them out in 2020 have moved on to new political fads.
Defund the Police is Now Defund ICE. Instead of BLM, the Beautiful People genuflect before the machete-wielding gangbangers of Tren de Aragua.
Let us close with the words of one of her devoted acolytes, Jakira Rogers to Judge Kelley:
“She carries forward a long tradition of Black leadership in this city.”
Oh yes she does, Jakira. She most certainly does.
Monica Cannon-Grant – a long tradition continues.
