An Indiana woman has been charged in connection with a triple homicide in unincorporated Crete on Monday, according to the Will County Sheriff’s office.
Jenna Strouble, a 30-year-old St. John, Indiana resident, faces nine counts of first-degree murder, the sheriff’s office said.
Sheriff’s deputies were called to conduct a wellness check in the 3400 block of East Norway Trail around 2 a.m. Monday. There, they found three people fatally shot: a man dead in a car in the driveway, and a man and woman inside the home on the first floor, near the front door, police said.
The victims have since been identified as 32-year-old Jacob Lambert and his parents, 54-year-old Stacy Forde and 55-year-old Patrick Forde, according to the sheriff’s office and Will County Coroner’s office. Police say Lambert had been in an “on/off” relationship with Strouble, and the couple shared children.
Police said Strouble made “incriminating statements” during interviews and that they had found the weapon allegedly used in the slayings. Strouble is being held at the Lake County, Indiana jail, awaiting extradition to Illinois.
