BROCKTON, MASS. (WHDH) – Fire officials are investigating a house fire in Brockton early Saturday morning that left a person dead, officials said.
Crews responding to a reported structure fire in the area of 80 Glendale Ave. around 12:30 a.m. found heavy fire showing on the second floor, according to the Brockton Fire Department. As they worked to exinguish the blaze, they found heavy fire engulfing the entirety of the second floor, including the hallway and bedrooms.
During the process of extinguishing the fire, crews located a victim who had succumbed to thermal injuries. Their name has not been released.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
No additional information was immediately available.
