A new restaurant concept has opened at 664 Selden St. in Detroit’s Midtown.
Medusa is led by acclaimed chef Anthony Lombardo, co-owner of nearby Italian restaurant SheWolf Pastificio & Bar, with a focus on cuisine of Sicily and other flavors of the Mediterranean.
“The food’s simple: olive oil, capers, olives, tomatoes, anchovies,” Lombardo told Hour Detroit magazine last year. “We’re going to tell the story of Sicily through our menu, through our service and our hospitality, and hopefully teach everyone about the uniqueness of this very special place.”
The building has seen a number of restaurant concepts try their hand at making a go of the space in recent years, including Smith & Co., Vigilante Kitchen + Bar, and Epiphany — Nain Rouge Kitchen.
Medusa officially opened for business on Thursday. Reservations are encouraged at medusa-detroit.com.
