Meghan Markle and Prince Harry continue to build their slate of TV shows, films and lifestyle projects against the backdrop of some scathing reviews and the pressure to prove they can make it in their post-royal American lives.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved to America in 2020 determined to prove they could reform their relationship with the media, achieve financial independence and demonstrate they could be stars outside the royal bubble.
Sky-high security costs drove them to pursue big money deals, including with Netflix and Spotify, but they have for years now struggled to land a major hit not tied to their experiences inside palace walls.
Some of that initial wave of projects disintegrated, others remain. The need to prove themselves though has so far not dissipated. Here is a look at their major ongoing projects.
Netflix: A Renewed First‑Look Deal
Harry and Meghan’s original Netflix deal expired in 2025 and, despite rumors they would be cut loose, they signed a new “first‑look deal,” ensuring the streamer gets first refusal on all Archewell film and television ideas.
Meghan said in a statement: “We’re proud to extend our partnership with Netflix and expand our work together to include the As ever brand. My husband and I feel inspired by our partners who work closely with us and our Archewell Productions team to create thoughtful content across genres that resonates globally, and celebrates our shared vision.”
With Love, Meghan was the big hope for 2025, showing Meghan in the kitchen with her celebrity friends and simultaneously plugging her lifestyle shop As Ever.
Season One drew plenty of eyeballs but also some sharp-tongued reviews before Season Two and a holiday special crashed out of the top 1,000 watched shows on Netflix. Page Six reported in January that a third season is unlikely, though there may be more holiday-specific one off content in the future.
Romance Movies
Meghan and Harry have two romance novel adaptations in the pipeline, The Wedding Date, by Jasmine Guillory, and Meet Me at the Lake, by Carley Fortune. The first is being written and co‑produced by Tracy Oliver, the first Black woman to write a $100m‑grossing film—Girls Trip.
Publicity material for the book reads: “A groomsman and his last-minute guest are about to discover if a fake date can go the distance in a fun and flirty debut novel.
“Agreeing to go to a wedding with a guy she gets stuck with in an elevator is something Alexa Monroe wouldn’t normally do. But there’s something about Drew Nichols that’s too hard to resist.”
Harry and Meghan have been tied to the Netflix adaptation of Carley Fortune’s bestselling novel Meet Me at the Lake for years but little concrete news has emerged about progress in the project.
Documentaries
The Sussexes’ most recent documentary, Cookie Queens, premiered to warm reviews and a standing ovation at Sundance in January 2026.
Directed by Alysa Nahmias and executive‑produced through Archewell, the film follows a diverse group of Girl Scouts navigating the pressures and triumphs of cookie‑selling season.
The documentary does not appear to have sold yet, at least there has been no public confirmation of a sale. That may in part be the result of a broader contraction in the market for factual productions.
Nahmias recently told the International Documentary Association: “The market is really awful right now, and it’s been so hard for so many of us.”
A hit would help the Sussexes as their past documentaries, including Masaka Kids, A Rhythm Within, Polo and Live to Lead, have not proved to be blockbusters.
Podcasts
In April 2025, Meghan launched podcast Confessions of a Female Founder through Lemonada Media, however, she has confirmed there will be no second season for now.
Meghan told Emma Grede on the Aspire podcast that she is taking a break from podcasting. She said she chose to “take everyone’s advice and mine included and to say, ‘I love that there’s so much excitement and desire for another season, but I need to focus on my business.'”
Commercial Ventures: As Ever
Meghan’s lifestyle brand As Ever launched in April 2025 with a curated range of home and food products. Initial product launches sold out in minutes as Meghan seemingly underestimated demand.
However, supply has been more stable since late summer 2025 and there is now plenty of produce for sale online.
As Ever has a tie-in to the With Love, Meghan Netflix series and Netflix is an equity partner in the business, meaning that when Meghan profits they profit too.
