A mother and daughter have gone viral after the toddler was caught drawing on her bedroom wall—and tried to get out of trouble in a hilarious way.
Felicity Johnson, 23, in Scioto County, Ohio, is a proud mom to 2-year-old Eliana and her baby brother, Callum.
Having young kids comes with its challenges, and trying to watch a toddler at all times can prove impossible—and, recently, Johnson realized that her daughter had been too quiet for too long.
When Johnson went Eliana’s bedroom to check on her, her daughter immediately handed her a couple of yellow markers—and, as the mom told Newsweek, “I knew I was in for a surprise.”
In a hilarious video to Johnson’s TikTok account @xomamafelicityy in March, viewed more than 3.2 million times, Johnson opens the bedroom door, and Eliana immediately runs up to her, gives her the markers, and announces: “I don’t got them. Sorry.”
Eliana then immediately begins backing away, glancing guiltily at the wall in the corner, and her mom immediately knows what has happened—so asks: “Show me where you drew.”
Then comes Eliana proudly showing the yellow scribbles on several walls in her pink bedroom, and on some of the furniture.
And when Johnson asks Eliana, “Are you supposed to do that?” the little girl has an instant reaction—trying to escape.
As Johnson records, the 2-year-old rushes toward the door, hesitates, and then decides to hide in her laundry basket. Eliana turns it upside down, throws it over her head, and goes still—even as dirty laundry tumbles out of the basket and lands by her feet.
Drolly, her mother tells the toddler: “I can see you still.”
Johnson said that the family is “still laughing about it,” and “seeing her run and try to hide under the laundry basket—only for the clothes to fall out and give her away—was just too funny to stay mad at.”
“It perfectly captures her personality,” she added. “Me and her dad will cherish this light-hearted video we have of her.”
Johnson wrote over the clip, “When your 2-year-old is being too quiet [you know] it ain’t good,” and added in a caption: “Lord I got my hands full with her!”

And it proved hugely popular, with more than 638,000 likes, and one comment—just a screengrab of Eliana hiding in the laundry basket—snapped up 181,000 likes of its own.
“When she put the hamper over her head I couldn’t help but burst into laughter,” one user posted, as another said: “That terrifying moment when they hand you a marker.”
“She denied, confessed and apologized all within her first sentence,” a third wrote, while a fourth commented: “The fact that she vanished into thin air amazes me! Just disappeared in front of our eyes.”
Art is important for a child’s development, as it helps them develop fine motor skills, deal with disappointment if the project doesn’t turn out how they want, learn to grow creatively, reduce stress, and even teach empathy, according to a report from National Geographic.
