One dead in 3-vehicle wreck on I-55 near Romeoville

One person has died early Thursday during a three vehicle collision on I-55 near Romeoville.

At 3:46 a.m. Illinois State Police troopers were called to northbound I-55 between Route 126 and U.S. 30, where three vehicles crashed.

One person was pronounced dead on the scene but it was not immediately clear which vehicle the person was traveling in.

All northbound lanes in that are remain shut down and traffic is being rerouted at U.S. 30.

Romeoville Police Department is the lead agency on this incident, ISP is assisting with traffic control.
