One person died after a three-car crash on the Eisenhower Expressway early Sunday, according to Illinois State Police.
The crash happened around 2:15 a.m. in the eastbound lanes on the I-290 at 1st Avenue, according to state police. One person was taken to an area hospital and later pronounced dead.
State police did not say how many passengers were in the three cars or their condition. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
The left three lanes were closed until just after 7 a.m. Sunday.
